My question is regarding transport equipment of fresh produce (mostly stone fruit).  This would include the transport fleet trailers transporting the fresh produce from the farm to the packing house. .  How often two these need to be washed? The information I found states that it can be washed prior to the season starting and after it ends (Deep wet wash).  This is as long as there is a daily inspection to make sure the loading part of the truck (fleet trailer) is free of animal feces, fur, feathers, chemical contamination's etc.  and as long as it used only to transport food.  ( this inspection is done one a day)  And of course in the case of any contamination, the truck would need to be washed as a preventive action.  Also excessive dirt or debris can be cleaned though dry cleaning.  Does this sound right?

Hi,

In my opinion what you are wrinting makes sense.

How long does a season take? Also, how is the produce packed (or is it loaded in bulk)?

I have our trucks be washed monthly (wet/deep) and clean with broom whenever there are pieces of wood / etc. on the floor from general loading/unloading pallets. We ship fresh produce packed in plastic trays which are open from the top.
