Label Requirements for wine infused cheese

Good morning, all. I have a question about label requirements regarding wine infused cheddar. I have looked on the FDA website and am only finding information for labeling wine itself. This would be wine soaked cheese curds that will be pressed into blocks. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

I would also assume the same but was unsure because of the alcohol content of wine and how to represent it on a label. I'm not finding much guidance online regarding the addition of wine/alcohol in food products.

Plenty of other wine cheeses on the market.   A quick google will show you what they're doing.   From what I see they declare the wine in the normal descending order and bracket the wine ingredients behind it....

Agreed MDaleDDF. We use beer in products. We label in normal descending order. Follow allergen rules if we use wheat beer.

Thank you. I have seen plenty of other cheeses just no actual FDA guidance documents specifically mentioning wine/beer in food products. I have since found some guidance documents regarding alcohol content declaration etc.

Yup, various methods of doing it. These guys put it into the vat, presumably at the cheddaring stage? But you can also get cheeses soaked in wine or added to a blend. In the UK it's pretty common for some very boozy blends to be made at Christmas. This is where cheese is blended with other ingredients and pressed back into a cheese shape. Sounds weird but some are really nice. Lots of brandy, dried fruit and spices tend to go in when it's that time of year.

If you've never done anything with alcohol - look at your state liquor licenses too. We have one. We buy kegs worth (for soups and brats).  It's a non-beverage user license. This allows us to purchase from a license manufacturer or wholesaler. "A nonbeverage user's license shall allow the licensee to purchase alcoholic liquor from a licensed manufacturer or wholesaler without the imposition of any tax upon the business of such licensed manufacturer or wholesaler as to such alcoholic liquor to be used by such licensed nonbeverage user solely for the nonbeverage purposes set forth in subsection"
