Hi,

I have been a member of IFSQN for many years and regularly logged in for feedback, webinars, and to provide feedback to other professionals but never introduced myself. I have been a food safety professional for over 10 years working as a QA manager and eventually FSQA director in the snacks and baked goods industry. In a brief past life I also worked in the regulatory side for the county and state manufactured food safety programs (with a short stint in retail/restaurant inspections which were fun with a side of hectic!).

I have not logged on for a couple years after a particular bad experience that had be walking away from a terrible situation at a facility, and also made me walk away from the FSQA role. I actually used this forum to reach out to other professionals and obtain feedback on the situation before making my exit (using a throwaway account of course due to severity).

Stepping away made me go into certifier work which, while important, does not fulfill my actual career passion of managing food safety systems and building strong food safety teams and culture. I am meditating on getting back on the path, but this is currently undecided. I am excited to re-join the current conversations on this forum and read with the food safety world has been up to!

Hey hey, welcome back. I also took a step away to clear my head from the food safety side of things, so I know what that's like.

Welcome back! I usually join the Friday Food Safety Webinars (good stuff).  I don't post that much on here but did yesterday about other auditing options other than GFSI and got some great feedback.  This is a nice forum for help!

Welcome back!  Be warned, a lot has changed in the GFSI schemes.  As my partner and I have to keep telling the executive leadership, our customers and our auditors are a lot smarter than they were even 10 years ago, and what used to fly ain't going to cut it anymore.

Hi MMQA,

Thank you for the re-introduction.

Have had a few moments myself, sometimes as hard as it is, walking away is the right thing to do.

Kind regards,

Tony
