Hello all. Can anyone share their experiences of using Citrocide in a continuous washer used to reduce microbial loading of herbs. We are look at using Citrocide to replace chlorine.

Hi The Prof,
 
This is Peracetic Acid with a fancy name right?
 
It has been proven to be a highly effective disinfectant in the food industry for Donkey's years. 
 
Haven't used it with herbs but can imagine it would be an improvement on chlorine as there shouldn't be a need to rinse afterwards unless organic.

Hi Tony,

 

It's a combination of peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. There are similar chemicals available - I am opting to use Crystal from Kersia for trial purposes, and need to complete a Explosives Precursor declaration. I will share the trial outcomes when I have them.....
