Hi all, I am looking for suggestions on which vulnerability assessments you all are using. We are mainly a food distributer, a food bank. As a Food Bank, we are exempt from the I.A.Rule, but need one for AIB. The USDA form just does not apply to us in most ways. Does anyone have one to share that isn't the USDA VA? Or any ideas that could help us out? I guess if I have to use USDA's, I will continue to. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

What specific type of vulnerability are you looking to assess? I'm assuming intentional adulteration since you are posting this in the food defense category.

@TimG, I wasn't sure where to post this. For years I have used USDA's VA form. I have been through the Food Defense Plan Builder as well. I am just seeing if there is a more basic VA form I could use for intentional adulteration. Both of the above mentioned are way more in depth than we need them to be. Maybe I will just continue using the USDA VA.

If you are covering all your bases with the current assessment, I personally wouldn't try to reinvent the wheel. I haven't looked at the USDA one, but I know the FDA builder seems daunting at first but once you realize you can put in "N/A doesn't apply to this establishment" or something similar, it gets a lot easier to work with.

I haven't done AIB in a few years, but I feel like they also had some generic assessment and audit documents somewhere on their website. I might be mistaken though.

You didn't just take that FSQ manager role at the Detroit food bank that was up a few months ago, did you?

@TimG, thanks Tim. I have quite the extensive Food Defense Plan in place for all or our facilities. Not rethinking the wheel is a good plan. Thanks so much, and no, I am in Oregon.
