Are manufacturers of food contact packaging required to be registered with FSMA bioterrorism and have a food defense plan in place?

I just researched this as well, and my understanding was that they do not have to be registered. The registration is only required for those who actually handle food product. However, some will have it if they are certified under a GFSI scheme.

Oh, I do have it all as we also produce food. I just don't think I'm giving it up for a customer that buys a few pallets of our over produced food contact jars every year.

SORRY DOES NOT APPLY!

I wouldn't give them the food defense plan even if you were required to have one.

That kind of defeats the purpose ~ figuring out what your vulnerabilities are, then telling everyone about it.  Might as well start handing out your bank account info too.

Oh, no I don't ever do that. In fact I'm pretty sure you are supposed to keep it locked up and only authorized folks can see it.

Most people just have a food defense statement that says we have one blah blah, that's all I give out.
