My company is looking into a good Food Safety and Quality Software so we can move away from paper. Need one that can record analytical data and weight data. Looked at Redzone but not sure it can handle the lab analytical side. Any recommendations?

I found that Redzone has some benefits but I've never seen it incorporating lab results. As always I'm sure it's possible but it might be more cash.

I'd love to see people who have seen a system integrated well. Even Redzone is a bolt on and you can have it completely without any quality input. Lineview I've seen running with zero food safety and quality inputs many times.

Following up on what GMO said — Redzone and Lineview are built for production throughput/OEE, so lab data usually gets bolted on rather than being native to the system. Worth deciding first: do you just need lab results recorded, or do they need to actually gate shipment (bigger ask, narrows the field a lot)? And does "weight data" mean CCP/checkweigher readings vs. general yield tracking — those tend to live in different systems.

 

Full disclosure: I run IONI, food safety compliance software for small-to-mid manufacturers — CCP monitoring (including weight/measurement checkpoints) plus supplier COA and lab-result tracking live together instead of in separate spreadsheets.

My company has had a really good experience with Allera. They are a small company, and fairly new, so they are still working on building some of the features and functions I'd like to see, but we were able to move all of our receiving, production, and sanitation forms to digital versions. We are also using it to manage our Document control and Supplier Approval program. They have a great and responsive customer service team, and have been very receptive to feedback and feature requests, and were really well priced in comparison to the other options we looked into.
