hi Al, we can start to define best practice here if you want. In fact you're already doing it.

- Don't erase (in fact don't use pencil at all)
- Dont use correction fluid like tippex
- Cross out mistakes with a line an initial (maybe an explanation)
- Don't leave gaps where something is meant to be entered. If no data available then at least say so.
- Write clearly / legibly

Anybody else care to add to the list?

1. what about signature:
FSIS: accept sign or initials.

I think it's better to enter the complete name ie Allen Thompson.. because any one can cheat you sign (most time we use a quick sign on logs.. not your "check bank" sign) or your initials...

any way... when FSIS said sign... they talk about your name or your sign (draw)??

2. What about record access: usually records are next to the CCP.. like next to the cool storage door.... so any one can "sabotage it" (I have some "funny" stories about this topics)

Is the procedure aimed to comply with any particular organisation's requirements or only for personal improvement (equally valid of course) ?.

added - after a little more thought I realised the difficulty in answering yr post is that you are seeking details on both the "big' and "small" pictures at the same time which is not so easy (hence, I suppose, the ISO 9k pyramid structures ).
