Hi everyone

In case you haven't already been made aware, ISO 9001:2000 is due to have an update later this year. The new standard ISO 9001:2008 is due to be published in October 2008.

If anyone would like any additional information please feel free to send me a PM.

Regards

Rob

Do you have the draft copy so that we can view the possible changes and make earlier preparations?

Dear All,

Publication of new edition of ISO 9001:2008 expected in October-November 2008

A new edition of ISO 9001, the world's most widely used quality management system standard, is being submitted for voting as a Final Draft International Standard and, subject to formal approval by the ISO membership, the publication of the revised version should be in the October-November 2008 time frame

Dear Biss,

Thank you for the info. It seems ISO 9001 has some "particular" attraction to you:) Just in case if you need it, here is the resume of ISO 9001 revision:

http://www.praxiom.com/iso-new.htm

Humm, it said the new standard is only make a clear clarifications to some clauses, nothing change significantly? Is this means that the holder of ISO 9001:2000 automatically will gets the ISO 9001:2008?

Arya

I imagine at the next Certification audit clients will be audited against the new version of the standard. If the changes are really very minor (and I have to confess I don't know as I have not seen it) I think Certification would be a formality and the new certificate would be for ISO 9001:2008. If you had your audit to ISO 9001:2000 just before the new standards was published then you have to wait a while. That's my understanding of how these things work.

Simon

Dear Simon and Erasmo,

Thank you very much for the inputs. Yeah, I guess it will turned that way. Oh well, I guess b'coz we're not a holder of ISO 9001 certificate, so we dont need to worry bout it yet. But Im just wondering... if the change were truly significant, and it suppose to change the mindset or the procedure of ISO 9001 holders, then without any doubt, they should follow it. Even if they just certified ISO 9001:2000 in the near of launching ISO 9001:2008! Hmmmm, or I am just manipulating my own mind @.@...

Arya

I think modification of quality manual is required as per the new version before the certification audit

 Congratulations :) for the certification.
We have an audit soon. I wonder is there something else has to be done except updating the manual to the changes of the new version?
We have an 9001:2000 certification.
