Hello all,

I am currently implementing SQF and would like to know if we need to carry out a Food Fraud assessment if the Raw materials are supplied by our customer ?

The customers have a supplier approval program and directly deal with the Suppliers of these raw materials . We do not interact with these suppliers , we just receive the product and do the basic receiving checks and process these raw materials.

Please note the products received are Frozen seafood and Chilled meat products.

I am assuming that we do not need to carry out the Food Fraud as we do not deal with the suppliers.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks

Basan

Hi Basan,

I predict that you need to follow the requirements as stated in the SQF Standard since you are presumably responsible for your manufacturing process and afaik, SQF's interpretation of Food Fraud includes "within site" activities.

Food Fraud/SQF is oriented so as to prevent "fraudulent" events which may ultimately cause safety-related incidents.

Kind Regards,
