We are intending to initiate a project of manufacturing and export of Fried Onion to USA. Do somebody guide us the regulatory requirements related to inspection (quality, microbiological, sensory, physical etc.) and related to import. We have used the online portal of FDA for our ready to eat products (LACF). Is the same or similar portal available for Fried Onion and similar products? Regards. Zeeshan.

Hi Zeeshan

you need to have a FSVP-QI person to have that person evaluate your process and ensure the process is up to the specifications as the product was produced in the US. I have done FSVP for some commodities, a plan is create/follow/documented to evaluate the production process to ensure the food safety risks are covered by the producer or by the buyer (here). 

Usually if your site holds one GSFI certifications with the FSMA addendums added then your site will be in compliance. The FSVP-QI person need to complete the evaluation in this side.
