Has anyone done a gap analysis of the Tesco food manufacturing standard version 5 and BRC version 6. We have BRC 6 and are about to undergo TFMS audit and I would like to concentrate on areas that are different

Hi Sharon. We have conducted it from the point of view of ensuring our software is current with requirements. However, the answer to your question is beyond the scope of a forum and you will need to conduct a gap analysis of your own.

Except to say that in my opinon the most significant change is that BRC Issue 6 has been revised to bring it very much in line with the specific requirements of the TFMS v5 so you should have a lot of the work done already assuming you performed well in the BRC audit. It is important to note that the requirements mentioned in BRC are very clearly defined from Tesco's view point in the TFMS. Also, the TFMS standard makes reference to a number of Tesco Codes of Practice (COP's) which you need to refer to and ensure you are fully compliant. A lot of work for sure, but I like the Tesco Standard as it leaves very little room for intrepretation which in our line of business can save a lot of mental twisting and turning :headhurts:
