Hello all,

I'm new to this site and joined the food safety industry a few months back from the defense industry. My company manufactures food contact surfaces and considered food packaging. We are SQF certified. We are looking for a warehouse in Canada that meets food safety standards. Can anyone make any recommendations?

Currently we keep our product within our own warehouse facility on site, but are looking to branch out into 3rd party locations. Anybody else do this and what was their experience? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have had I difficult time finding them unless they are food or packaging distributors.  Most have the bare minimum: pest control program, security system.  Training is very weak with little to no SOP's.

I believe this will be a big task but good luck!!

The problem with warehousing and transportation is often their business is not wholly dedicated to the food industry and therefore there is lack of knowledge of requirements and then a risk of general contamination from lack of food safety controls and potential from cross contamination.  There is an SQF standard for logistics and I wonder whether it would be worth you contacting them to see if they have anyone listed as certified.
