Hello there!

I am drawn to this site because I am newly the Director of Operations for an Organic, Allergen free, candy company. In doing that and being in a small organization, the responsibilities of Quality also fall under me and although I have worked with quality programs in the past, it's never been my responsibility to implement and write these.

I run in to a lot of challenges as we currently have one line running and we aren't doing any manufacturing in house. So a lot of the information I find is too detailed and non-applicable to my operation, however we want to put them in place!

I find myself writing a lot of SOPs, training programs, and many many binders!  Just looking for some guidance on how to go about these things from a much smaller company standpoint and how to get them in place so we can step up to a GMP audit this year voluntarily.  First steps, a HACCP program wheras I don't think we will have any CCPs because my PRPs will cover the minimal hazards present within our plant.

So far loving what I've found on this site and hoping to make a few connections that are mutually beneficial!

One thing I can't figure out, how do I search the forums?

Thanks!

Angela

Hi Angela,

:welcome:  to the forums.  Keywords will generally get you lead you to what you need.  Although it may find everything.  Fortunately there are members who can also help.

Where do I search? I don't see a search bar besides the one that consistently searches google..

Just clicked on the settings bar by it and looks like I found out how to search Forums - I guess I found it! Thanks

Angela,

First off, WELCOME to this forum! I've only been here a few months myself and have found it to be an INCREDIBLE resource not to mention the fact that this community is populated by expert professionals who are actually willing to take the time (and to demonstrate the patience) to help answer your questions and perhaps even point you in the right direction.

Please feel free to correspond with me as much as you need to because your current situation is EXACTLY like mine! The only differences are that you've worked with Quality Programs in the past and I haven't (I've only been in this role since mid-December 2014) and we manufacture our own candy. Not only are we anticipating SQF Level 2 Certification by the end of July (HACCP Plan already in place), but we are working on getting Organic Certified by June 1st too and I'm the Project Manager tasked with creating the OSP and completing all the necessary paperwork. Needless to say, I actually laughed out loud when you made the comment about having many, many binders!

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you through here and if there's anything I can do to help then please don't hesitate to ask.

All The Best,

JKR

Apologies that I missed yr original post/queries.

I expect you now know already but the Advanced Search is often particularly useful IMEX.

Unfortunately, the tiny icon which opens it is not always visible.  However, if no icon showing,  just mousing over the area immediately to the right of the blue framed mag.glass in top, right-hand corner should  reveal the link + pop-up text “Advanced Search” (at least on my Chrome).

Kind Regards,
