Hello All,

I have recently started with a new company and am reviewing all the forms and procedures.  We have checklist's and work forms but everyone of these forms not only has to be completed as used (like you would expect) but then needs a third party to come and fill out a verification column or section verifying that the document has been filled out and filled out correctly.

This last step seems like an unnecessary step and waste of time and resources.  Is this required by SQF?  I haven't found anything in the guide requiring it.  Isnt filling out the form verifying we are working in accordance with the SOP all thats required?

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Across the board this kind of verification is complete overkill.  There may be some limited critical checks that may require third party verification such as line clearance or CCP related, but in general definitely not required.

Stop it immediately (after a considered review of the risks of course).

Regards,

Simon

I agree with Simon.. Most Third parties put that in documents to increase their contact-time with you and they can charge you more  ..

Not part of the notorious SQF validation/verification regime by any chance ? I would tread with some care before demolishing.

Ask the Practitioner maybe ? Or is that you ?

Kind Regards,

Third party verification would only be normally used if you lack the resources to carry out the verification activity yourselves.
