Hi Guys,

I'm trying to make a checklist for our internal audit using BRC and SSOP/GMP/HACCP Standard. I noticed that there are a lot of same clauses between the two standards. So, i'm wondering if I will just based my checklist to BRC standard alone since it cover mostly the clauses of SSOP/GMP/HACCP.

Do you think it's easier this way?

Thanks,

Joan

HACCP and GMP-SSOP i think is just part of BRC. So I suggest that you follow the BRC requirement for each clause however, not changing your existing GMP_SSOP, HACCP if its already align with the BRC.

Hi Joan,

As per previous post, the BRC7 standard aims to be comprehensive. GMP and associated semi-clones like SSOP are regarded as approx. equivalent to the group of Prerequisite Programs whose designation (implicitly) represents the first stage of implementing a HACCP System.

The irritating part of the BRC request is (as usual)  the risk based element.

There are , i think, several BRC layouts posted on this forum which self-achieve the above plus the desired split-over-the-year format.

Or you can design yourself of course so as to emphasize areas which have given (or are considered "likely" to give) FS "difficulties" (~ = risk-based)

Kind Regards,

Hi Mary Joan -

One thing you can look at for your audit, is indicating what the the question covers. We note the BRC clause(s), regulations, customer requirements, etc. at the end of the question. Takes a bit of extra time to set up initially and when BRC updates, but I can show to any auditor (BRC, customer, regulatory official) that I have a question that covers the audit point under discussion.

It drives me nuts to have multiple internal audits all covering variations of the same thing. We have 5 standard internal audits: HACCP/SSOP, Food Defense, Quality, GMP/SPS (wth mock recall), and BRC other.

Sure, your BRC based checklist would include all the requirements from SSOP/HACCP.
