Hi All,

One of our customers in UK asked that the weight system (net weight / drained weight) shall be checked by the Competent Authority. Who is the CA for this kind of system? We adapted ISO 2859-1:1999 for the sampling and conducted risk assessment to check finished products. Is GFSI (i.e. BRC, IFS) could be considered as CA?

Regards.

Mandark

Hi Mandark,

I think you will find there is a specific CA in every Country since this is a legal question. Probably the Philippines equivalent of -

https://www.gov.uk/w...-of-measurement

From memory, the Procedures for measurement of drained weights can be contentious.

Kind Regards,

GFSI schemes would not be seen as the competent authority.  In the UK it would be trading standards.  In your country it would be whatever governmental organisation has the authority to take action against you if you fail to act (not civil action or fines for lost profit / reputation as a customer may levy but actual legal action either to make you comply, fines or imprisonment as directed by a court.)
