I was previously at a facility doing BRC, so have several years of experience there.

We were told that PCQI was recommended but not required, and we can list training/qualifications etc (ie. internally trained by PCQI consultant, education...)

Recently joined a new company (falls under the "very small business" category under FSMA). They want to go FSSC. Am I required to get PCQI training?

They produce dry powdered products that have 2-3 year shelf life (the RM is supplied by customer, and we process/package, and gets sent back to the same customer). Are we required to fulfill FSMA requirements?

Thank you!

Charles,

I guess another question is... (and I went on the FDA website on FSMA wasn't able to find an answer). What type of processing facility does not fall within FSMA?

That's not a simple flowchart, as there are various exemptions to all of the different FSMA rules. If you're having trouble finding this type of information by going through the guidance and text of the law yourself, I highly recommend attending an official PCQI training session so they can help you navigate these things and give you some tools.
