Dear All

We are preserved vegetables factory building a new unit next to the old one. We want from the start to build BRC and IFS comparable factory.

Can you please suggest/share a map of a BRC floor plan including production area, staff area, etc. with flow?

I jointed the web today and read many of the topics on the forum. I can see people getting all sort of usual advice and tips so thank you in advance for contributing to my topic.

Yas

Dear Yas,

It is not possible to provide you a general BRC/IFS site plan.

Every site is unique. The floor plan and facilities provided, but also the materials to be used and the equipment for control of temperature, air and other conditions, depends on your processes and process lines.

succes

Thank you for your prompt reply Madam.

I understand. I mean the usual - production facility, staff area, canteen, storage etc. I will then use it as a guidance and re-adjust / develop mine.

Could you also suggest any source of guidelines for example: are there regulations in terms of sq. of changing rooms for up to 50 or 50+ staff?

Thanks!

I'm not aware of any regulations on the changing room size but there are laws in the UK on number of toilets for number of staff but off hand I don't know what they are.

For your factory plans, just draw on it arrows where people come in to your factory, arrows for where the product flows, where high care areas are (if you have them) arrows for where waste goes etc.  I probably wouldn't put them all on the same plan if I'm honest because it just gets a bit "busy".

I doubt you'd get many people happy to share their factory plans with you on the internet though due to confidentiality.

Dear AGRARKO,

I believe that place, size, materials, entrances, etc of your staff facilities also depends on your processes and expected hygiene  conditions.

Dear Madame

Thank you. I will look into the UK laws. Yes, we would have high-care area.

I also dowloaded few guides so I am hoping to get some useful info.

All the best!

Yas
