Webinar Overview:
Today’s food safety professionals know that transitioning to a FSMA-compliant food safety plan is a must. AIB International provides best practices as the go-to leader for food safety training and FSMA knowledge. We offer full service training solutions online and in person that meet the needs of the food and beverage industries. Sign up now to learn how to modify your HACCP plan for FSMA compliance.

Dania : I will wait for slides and video. Happy day to all
Marisol : :(
shorena : please i interest  treiners contact information
Deshraj sharma : hi deshraj from India
Maribel : NICE EVENING FROM THE PHILIPPINES
Dennis : Gary, I would say No. GFSI is global and FSMA is a US regulation. Most Certifying bodies might have a addendum for FSMA
Helena : we want to be more keen with the vulnerability of our ingredients but we have limited free references for vulnaribilities.  do you suggest anything?
Muhammad Sabir  : Chrome worked for me now. Thanks
Mark Smith : Bruce - It is available to all.  You have a Microsoft or corporate IT issue.
Dennis : Gary, Most GFSI schemes would get you about 90- 95% FSMA compliant
Marven : from philippines
Jimmy : Bruce i just put chrome into my current browser then opened the webnar
Marven : nice evening from philippines
Simon Timperley : Good evening Marven
Lori : what is the best systematic way to assess risk with foreign suppliers?  (FSVP)
Muhammad Sabir  : from United Arab Emirates - Dubai
Jimmy : Marven welcome from the grotty UK
Marven : good evening Simon
Mohamed : Good evening from Sri Lanka
Simon Timperley : ha ha Jimmy, nothing likr pride in your country
feyisara : feyisara from Nigeria
Samuel : When is FSMA putting the Produce Rule into play in the US?
Mark Smith : Lori, FDA just released guidelines that may answer your questions.  I know the Forum has a number of examples also
Dustin : They can swab even iof there is no probable cause
Dao : Hi everybody !
Jitendra : Jitendra From india
Charlie : We're looking forward that the PCQI training would be conducted in Philippines soon
Jitendra : Jitendra Jangir india
Marla : which 3 countries?
Lori : Thanks Mark, I did see that.  I'm particularly interested in FSVP.  I  just started reading the draft guidance.
Sara : Which 3 countries?
Shayla Franks : What are the three countries?
shaun horton : Why wasn't HACCP used properly/enforced in USA like the rest of World?
Lori : Does anyone know of any good sources on where to get on-site training at your company when it comes to FSMA?
Anneke : 3 countries with similar food safety laws???? What about all EU countries?
Bruce : Hey Charlie, many of the PCQI classes are now virtual - you don't have to wait for them to be physically in the Phillipines
Sarina : what are the 3 countries?
Savy : Lori the importer of record under FSVP is responsible for assuring the foreign supplier is compliant with the regulation which includes PCQI rule if not exempt
Kevin : Woah.... good stuff, but the FDA does not have the authority to enter your facility.  They can have grounds for a warrant, and can seize any products leaving under suspicion.
Jimmy : Its crazy how bad food safety is in some very wellthy and educated country's
Heidi : Anneke, indeed
Gary Cook : why isnt United Sates on this this?
Jimmy : are any better than the US?
Zargham Abbas : hy
Charlie : Hi Marven I'm Charlie also from Phiilippines. I have been searching for Preventive Control Qualified Individual training in Philippines since 2017. Do you have any update?
Brian : Gary Cook - what do you mean?  FSMA is the US program....??
Amit : FDA has released 7 FSMA Final Rules. When developing HARPC, do we just consider Preventive Controls for Human Food, or other FSMA rules may also apply?
Francis : Not the United Kingdom and EC match FSMA ?  We have a history of good food safety !
Chris : lots of holidays visiting your suppliers
Chi Samuel  : What is the best way to ensure food exported to the United State respect the FDA rules.?
Lori : I may do that Premal.
Dennis : Kevin, if you are registered with the FDA. they absolutely have authority to come into your facility. If you refuse they will obtain a warrant and will come in .
Marven : Charlie, try SGS
Premal Bhatt : Simon - are we going to get a list of attendees?
Simon Timperley : No Premal
Emma Fonseca : hi, from México
Marla : Is it still called HARPC?
Zargham Abbas : Novoice
Janice : where is a good place to find out about MOUs with foreign countries
Brian : Kevin - they most definitely have the authority to enter your business, if you are a registered food facility.
Jimmy : Emma Hi
Charlie : this Power Point Presentation would be available for downloading?
Simon Timperley : yes charlie
Shayla Franks : Yes, I would love to have a copy of the powerpoint
Simon Timperley : and recording
Charlie : thanks
Milton Delgado : Good morning to everybody fron Ecuador
Shayla Franks : Awesome, Thanks Simon!
Simon Timperley : will send an email to you all later
Chris : Nice one Simon
Suman  : nice simon
Kevin : yes with a warrant.
Muhammad Sabir  : No sound
Suman  : thanks
Savy : NO HARPC is not officilly used...PCHumanFoods
Brian : Kevin - no warrant needed.
Simon Timperley : click reconnect muhammad
Muhammad Sabir  : Sound is back now
Brian : If you refuse entrance to FDA inspectors, they will definitely go get a warrant...and then you will be in a world of hurt when they drop the hammer on you during their inspection.  Good luck with that.
Marisol : thank you Simon
Kevin : 4th amendment
Lori : what are the significant differences between requirements pertaining to FSMA animal/human food?
Savy : Do not have to consider allergens for animal food
Brian : Kevin, I'm well aware of the 4th amendment.  You waive that right when you register as a food facility.  Look into it.
Amit : Is being HARPC compliant (by following requirements of 21 CFR 117) synonymous to being FSMA compliant?
Suman  : what are the additional requirements if BRC certified
Chris : what about GMO's for animal feed?
Gary Cook : If your Facility is GFSI Certified are you in complainace with FSMA?
Lilly Laws : No allergens for animals
Brian : Gary Cook - no, not entirely.
Sue : Gary... no if doe not
Chris : I was told at my PCQI training that HARPC was not FDA language.
Ana Lucia Guevara : Gary, if you are GFSI certified you have around 90-95% of compliance with FSMA
Samuel : 90% is low if you have a good food safety program you should not get anything lower than a 95%
Kimberly : Gary - BRC covers most of the FSMA requirements but not all. Currently, no GFSI scheme covers all FSMA requirements. BEST to take a PCQI course and FSVP if you import or rely on importers.
Samuel : If your in the US
Amit : Chris - section 103 of FSMA law talks about HARPC ...
Katherine : To show compliance with FSMA having a certified food  safety system is it enough to prepare a FSP stating in which documents/records already in place, the requirements are met?
Susan : Kevin - the FDA does have the authority to inspect facilities at the time and in the manner permitted by the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetics Act.  The Owner, Operator, or Agent-in-Charge acknowledges this when they register the facility with the FDA.
Gary Cook : Kim,
Stuart : what are others using to "validate" magnets - what is an acceptable validation?
Dustin : Do you have to do ingredient Hazard analysis for preventative controls?
Chi Samuel  : FSMA with respect to Aflatoxins, What will be the best approach  develop wholesome food products: 1 should the manufacturer ensure no mold in the facilities and grains or 2 develop enzyme that will inhibits the effect of toxins in the food : which approach will FSMA choose ?
Chris : For allergens Dustin i would say yes
Bradley irvin : How long is this going to be?
Lorna Lowe : unable to see video
ROCHELLE : NOT HEARING
Kevin : Only at times of transport
Narongchai : If you are certiified to any GFSI reg standard, you can see the difference between standard and FSMA on its website.
Dustin : what if you capture ingredient allergens in another way?
Simon Timperley : If problems click reconnect
Randy : Does an external agent need to validate allergen preventive controls or can we validate internally?
Filiz : I think it is not a must to get a PCQI training, if a person in the facility has  been adequately educated, trained, experienced in food technologyand safetyon site.... Is that correct?
ROCHELLE : THANKS, IT WORKED
Bradley irvin : simon about how long is this
Bob : I
Kevin : not trying to get into symantics...   just make safe food, no problem
Bob : I understnad in the US radiological canbe included inthe Chemical catagory
Kevin : no need to argue, we're all on the same page
Simon Timperley : Premal you are not allowed to solicit business during the webinar
Chris : how much is a geiger counter nowadays?
Brian : Fritz - technically, you are right...but after talking to some FSMA professionals, you are going to have to prove your proficiency in FSMA (not just food safety)...which will be difficult without PCQI training.
Bob : Radiological can be includede inthe Chemical harad
Milton Delgado : I`m just preparing equipment to start producing tropical fruits juice. The fruits are organic produced. What points I have to consider in our HACCP plan to fullfil with FSMA requirements
Premal Bhatt : Lori - did you get my contact information for your onsite training and FSVP Qs?
Muhammad Sabir  : If an Organization is having FSSC 22000 certification, Does it be considered to be in compliance with this programme?
Ossama Ismail : 3 countries are : Canada , Australia & New Zealand
Kimberly : That's correct Filiz. I just like to learn first hand.
Tamieka : Hello from Jamaica
Simon Timperley : yes john
Premal Bhatt : Simon- ?
Lori : Yes Premal but respecting what Simon said.
Simon Timperley : you are not allowed to solicit business during the webinars
Chris : Harpsee, I've been calling it Harpic for months without realising...Oops
Premal Bhatt : Simon - I am not able to post on chat.
Savy : Milton if US you are subject to the Juice HACCP regulation and exempt from FSMA but must comply with new GMPs 117 organic has nothing to do with it
Sarwat : Does it required in the Co-Packaging department too or in the manufacturing  facilities
Samuel : I need my PCQI
Richard : https://www.ifsh.iit.edu/fspca - check it out for training courses
Narongchai : Muhammad Sabir, you can go to FSSC website and see what the diffences are sheet.
Janice : how are people risk assessing radiological risks?
Diana : If you are just the importer of record, do you need to come up with a your own Food  Safety plan that is FSMA compliance or can you use your co manufacturers Food safety plan?
Chris : don't buy from chernobyl
Stuart : LOL Chris
shaun horton : :)
Kimberly : Diana - it's best to come up with your own and then make sure that your plan meets or exceeds your co-manufacturer's expectations.
Samuel : I need something in Arizona or California US
Janice : chris- was that for the radiological risks? :)
Kimberly : Diana - the FSVP class talks about importers and there are a lot of things that importers need to comply with, being the importer of record.
Lauri : Samuel go to FSPCA website.  They have classes listed.
Chris : only purchase products that are not irradiated
Diana : Thanks Kimberly!
Jimmy : Janice no its just looking run down nower days and is hard to get an inspector to visit
Savy : Diana the Foreign Supplier must have a Food Safety Plan that the Importer of Record must review and assure it is in compliance with FSMA regulation
Bob : FSVP
Sarah : can you provide an example of a risk assessment matrix? I have been confused when you should call something a PC vs a CCP. I have set mine up with 1-5 for each severity and likelihood, then multiply the result for total risk. 5-12 needs a PC, and >12 needs a CCP/process PC. I'm not sure if that is a good method or not.
Chris : buy a geiger counter if worried about malicious contamination
Filiz : Thank you Kevin and Kimberley.
Mark Smith : Sarah, that is what my current company and many others I have been associated with use.  The only difference is 5-12  should be strongly considered for PC, at a minimum.  There are some items that will fit into 5-12 that will not warrant either a CCP or PC.
sheila : typed that link in for guidance documents message was page not found
Premal Bhatt : How can one predict/catch all possible ways consumer can "mis-ues" their product?
Narongchai : Alternative course if you do not have time, online course held by Alchemy:http://academy.alche...arning-course/
Savy : Sarah using the term CCP is not required I use it but only for the Process step only PC is used for Allergen contol / Sanitation control and Supplier control
ebenezer : Hello
Sarah : Mark/Savy, thanks. It seems to me that for SQF you still need to use CCP language so I have been using it and process PC as the same.
Sarah : Mark, how do you justify having something 5-12 and not calling it a CCP or PC? using a PRP?
Kimberly : GOOD question Premal!
Chris : You can't premal, my partner works at the removal of foreign object ward
Bruce : When are you going to cover the issue of pre-requisite programs, and that FSMA requires you to do the Hazard analysis in absence of the pre-req programs?
Mark Smith : We still use CCP also.  It becomes very confusing for operators if we consistently change terminology.
Premal Bhatt : How can manufacturer predict/catch all possible "mis-use" of their product by consumer?
Abdulrahman : great upto the point
Mark Smith : Sarah, if the severity is extremely high (Listeria) but the likelihood is almost nil, controlled by PRP.'
Heidi : what will the impact be on foreign suppliers?
Raul Navarro  : Can FSVP be only handled by Corporate Office?
Savy : Problem is not all PC fully control the hazard while CCP controls the hazard PC reduces the Risk full control is like cooking or pasteurization, roasting...FDA is very strict on correct termiologies
Filomena Almeida : Thank you.
Bob : Thank you!
Mark : Are there any plans for a Sanitary Transport Rule webinar any time soon?
Mariel : Thank you!!
Brian : Raul - no, in fact, it's better to have a separate plan at each individual facility
Neda : Thank you!
OUATTARA : thanks a lot!
Premal Bhatt : How can manufacturer predict/catch all possible "mis-use" of their product by consumer?
Emma Fonseca : Thanks
April Thessa Diaz : Do we have data of which countries that do not strictly support/adapt international food safety standards? Or what are the usual sources of problems? is it possible to identify them, possibly investigate not only export manufacturers but also how the government control these issues,. so we may know how to help them standardize preventive measures to food safety risks
Arshala : where can you exactly find reference saying CANADA, new Zealand an Australia is exempt to FSMA requirement or have equivalent programme
Lori : What rules do brokers have to follow pertaining to FSVP?
Chiranjeevi kadam  : Thank you
Zargham Abbas : Thank you
Jiten : Do you know think FDA only concern about the food safety - "NOT A QUALITY". i.e in US you have everything with long life and many unnecessary additives to extend product life or added due to food safety? Example sour cream , milk etc. while in UK we have food safety as well as Quality is important ( tasty food).
Bob : In Us, radiological can be in the chemical hazard
Jackie : Fabulous, the best - thank you!
NIZAR : Very informative. Thank you.
julie : Please sent the slides
Chris : Congrats
OLGA OCASIO : Excellent, very well explained!
Lilly Laws : Thank you!
Kristina : Thank you!
Patricia de Garcia : Vulnerability plan is used to prevent Food Fraud, for Food Defense is TACCP
Toom Sarasas : Thank you appreciated it, very good information.
Samuel : When is FSMA enforcing the produce rule in the US?
Christina  : thank youuu so much!! it was very insightful :)
Lorena : It was great !
Chi Samuel  : Thank you so much for the wonderful presentation
Nitin Rana : Thank You
Patricia de Garcia : Thank you!
Xiaoyun Fang  : Can we download the ppt?
Seda : thank you so much
Miriam : Very  good information! Thank you
Bedelia  : THank you so much -- I better understand how to move from HACCP to PC.
Premal Bhatt : Thanks Alicia, that helps!
Mark Smith : Thank you Simon and Alicia!
Marisol : Do you have any examples for Food Fraud at a fruit and vegetable packing and growing facility? We are needing to do the for our GlobalGap audit. I don’t know where to start because we control all planting and growing for our products.  Thank you
Tim : when a company receives pre blended product and returns it to the same company who supplied it, how does one actually assess the risk for a pre blended product/
Samuel : When is FSMA enforcing the produce rule in the US?
chandrasekhar  : thank you
Angel Gomez : As a co-packer who doesn't purchase anything, can we use the customers COA in place of a suppler approval program and will it also take care of the Ingredient Hazard Analysis?
Maricarmen Miranda : Will this presentation be available later for further consult?
Stephen : We have that labeled but consumer STILL misuses the product. We are STILL responsible.
Rhonda : Thank you so much
Ileana Cartagena : Thank you so much! Greetings from Ecuador
Jiten : I think FDA only concern about the food safety - "NOT A QUALITY". i.e in US you have everything with long life and many unnecessary additives to extend product life or added due to food safety? Example sour cream , milk etc. while in UK we have food safety as well as Quality is important ( tasty food)
Maria Cristina : Thank you, very interesting!!!
Sam : How do we apply FSMA when it comes to pest control?
Jeff : In PCQI training it was said to keep existing HACCP Plan and have a separate Food Safety Plan.
Tim : This is  a dry powdered pre blend
Samuel : Great thank you
Michelle Nnadi : Thank you !!
Elias Siskos : Is there any certified organization to confirm that someone is a PCQI ? How can I prove it...?
Sarah : can you provide an example of a risk assessment matrix? I have been confused when you should call something a PC vs a CCP. I have set mine up with 1-5 for each severity and likelihood, then multiply the result for total risk. 5-12 needs a PC, and >12 needs a CCP/process PC. I'm not sure if that is a good method or not.
Bob : PEst contol os a PRP
Rosemarie : The same question that Lori has "What rules do brokers have to follow pertaining to FSVP"?
Yehia : The course FSPCA for Human Foods uses FSPC more that HARPC - What is your opinion?
Mohamad Sobh : Who is required to have a HARPC plan?
Lauri : Elias use FSPCA
Sara : IS high risk based on SACODHA hazards only?
Kenly Edwards : what is the link between food fraud and food defense?
Laura Rodríguez  : Marisol, you can use SSAFE tool for food fraud
Chris : injected with water
Elias Siskos : Thanks Lauri
Michael : Will a facility be inspected by the FDA for FSMA requirements that is already under oversight with USDA FSIS?
Janice : is seafood exempt for most sections?
Chris : to bump up weight
shaun horton : how does this fit in with R&D samples made in the UK but to test in USA
