Hello,

We are struggling with FDA compliance within our company and have a few questions we are hoping the wider community can help with:

1. What is a free oil or fat? What food groups or food types would this include

2. What is a water in oil emulsion? Or an oil in water emulsion? What food groups or food types would this include?

3. What are low moisture fats and oils? Again, what foods would these apply to?

In terms of the food types listed within 21CFR 175.300, are there any crib-sheets showing the different foods which apply to each of these food types.

We have tried asking google countless times but cannot find the answers we are looking for. We are trying to gain compliance to the necessary regulation for coated material but do not fully understand exactly what we are needing to do based on the above questions.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

We manufacture and apply a coating to film that we purchase externally.
