You can say Distributed by and also packed by, but not manufactured by.

Hello All,

If we repack wheat flour, milled by our contracted milling company, into retail pouch at our facility can we put our company name after "Manufactured by" on the product label? Or "Packed by" instead of "Manufactured By"?

I thank you in advance for your time.

Miki

Mr. Oster,

Thank you for your reply.

I apologize that I could not reply to thank you earlier. I've held team meeting to share the info. so that we could clarify our concern.

I actually have another question regarding what we can claim on this particular product which is Canadian Wheat Flour that we re-pack into the retail pouch.

We are manufacture located in California, and we wonder if it would be acceptable that we claim the product is product of USA. Or the product is Product of Canada?

Please share your opinion when you have a chance.

You have to label the flour as Product of Canada - packed by your company name - same goes for Canada when we pack a product from the US in Canada

Yes, I am familiar with  your company and what you offer.

If the only thing in the re-pack is Canadian Flour - you can not make the claim the product is of USA - must be Product of Canada, but you can say packed in USA or packed by Popla International and USA .

Thank you for your reply.

Do all retail products need to come with origin claim on the label?

What if we only put "Packed in USA" and don't mention "Product of Canada". Would it be acceptable? Or the origin claim must be on the product label?

Please help me understand the regulation.

Best Regards,

Miki
