Do I need to renumber my SQF manual to match the 9.0 revisions from 8.1?

Im not sure what you are talking about.  Did you number your policies, programs, procedures, forms to correspond to the different SQF sections?

If so...…    no, there is no requirement that your manual numbers jive with the standard.

However, I think it would be wise to so.   this makes sure that you have reviewed the new code and are not missing any of the new requirements.  as well as make it easier to find during audits.

Yes, I am talking about our numbering aligning with 8.1 but not changed to the new numbering of 9.0. I realize I should but I have an audit this week and had read it is not a requirement that the numbering be updated and got nervous enough to ask in this forum. Thank you for your response.

I am also using the renumbering to make sure that I don't miss reviewing a section.  Maybe someone here on the forum would know if you miss renumbering a section, if that is considered a "minor".  I would think that demonstrating due diligence in this area and possible missing a few would be alright.

Just got my Edition 9 Certificate (we were one of the first audited against Edition 9). Not all of my numbers on policies were aligned yet, but as long as  you can show you have a policy, etc that covers that section (whatever it is), then the auditor was fine with it. But as a few others stated, make sure what you have aligns with some of the changes made in Edition 9

ok.  dont sweat the renumber.   just  make sure you have all of the changes covered.   it is my understanding that lots of people are missing the new risk assessments.

One of our minor NC's was a risk assessment that wasn't updated.

there is no standard on numbering.   I encourage people to number based on the code.   it is just more organized in my opinion and helps during audits.

many people will tell you to not use the numbers of the standard for their documents.   mostly because they change every couple of years.

if an auditor gives a minor on "numbering"  they are way out of line.

If your document procedure states that you will number to correspond to the standard, I guess that could be an issue.
