can you expand please?  not sure on "lock rooms"

Do you mean areas (like a lab) that have restricted access?

The employee coat area should be as far away from production as possible, preferably just inside the exterior doors.

Heard such horror stories about pests that come in on clothing, bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas

Best to keep that far far away!

A few items we have in our policy. I

  1. Lockers must be maintained in a clean and sanitary manner and kept free from accumulation of trash.
  2. NO food and/or drink items are allowed in the lockers. Food and Drinks must be stored in the break room area.
  3. Items such as flammable materials, illicit drugs, alcohol, firearms, inappropriate material etc., shall not be kept in the locker.
  4. NO graffiti, writing, painting or any other form of vandalism will be allowed.
  5. Lockers must be kept locked when not in use at all times. Company does not assume responsibility for the loss, damage or theft of personal property.
  6. Company owns of all lockers and reserves the right to inspect employee lockers at any time with or without permission of the employee. If the locker has to be opened by anyone other than the person using the locker, a member of management and one additional witness normally shall be present.

(Number 6 mainly happens during our monthly locker cleaning which the employees are made aware of in advance.)

Funny enough - in the first post - my brain read locker room and not locked rooms like Scampi did.

Like kfromNE, I also read this as Locker Rooms. In addition to kfromNEs points, I'd also add that we have in our locker room requirements.

7. Lockers to have sloped tops to stop the storage of items on top of the lockers. Or rules around the storage of equipment/boots etc on the top of the lockers. (Tops of lockers tend to get quite dirty, moreso if people store stuff on top.

8. If the site uses company provided uniforms, then separate sections for personal items/clothing, kept away from the company uniforms.

9. If the locker rooms also have restroom facilities (a lot are combined functions) then they are not to open into a production area.
