Dear Simon,

Is there a link somewhere to explain these coloured icons (admin playthings I presume) which appear near the left hand end of index threads ? I'm intrigued over the 'half brown square' one, does this mean the thread is half full of tish ?

Rgds / Charles.C

Kind Regards,

Good question and one that I cannot answer. I will find out and report back.

I was surprised to learn the 'half brown square' does not denote 'half full of tish', but it doesn't mean it doesn't.

Thanks Simon,

Slightly reluctant to admit it but you overestimated my perceptive abilities and underestimated my colourvision. I was actually referring to the BROWN thing as per the object immediately next to 'poll' in this picture -

Attached File  Brown_Blob_Picture.doc   139.5KB   105 downloads

However I just accidentally stuck my mouse on it and it apparently is a 'goto..' button, fancy that!, perhaps it goes to tish half of the time.
Nonetheless, the yellow one would have probably come up shortly as well.

(more ignorance, I presume it's impossible to put a picture in the post?)

Kind Regards,

Charles.C

Oh you mean the little orange square. Yes I think that shortcuts to the latest posted tish. Anyway our mis-communication wasn't wasted as I learned what the little yellow 'post it' notes on the image icons are. :king:

Not at all; yes it is entirely possible, in fact I just did it in the 'image icon' post.

Tish alert!!!

If you are posting and look to the top of the text editor you will see a little green square with a tree inside. If you click on it you can insert an 'inline' image into your post. It will ask you to input a url to the image location; you can either link to an image on another website of if you have webspace you can upload an image to cyberspace and link to it. If you cannot do either of the above and you have an emergency image requirement you can send it to me to upload for you, I will then reply with the web link, which you can use in your post.

Make sense? :dunno:

Simon

Dear Simon,

Perhaps I should have said ''simply' put…'
Actually I got as far as the tree > URL bit and the next step looked like a big effort so I gave up.
But thanks for the info., maybe I'll play when I can find a hosting site. I hear there are lots of interesting picture collections on these things.

:off_topic: PS maybe it is time to adjust the spelling on the "mirco" criteria thread in the other forum, all the search engines will miss it :sofa1:

You should know by now Charles, I don't do simple.

Beneath the typing box, you will see "Post Icons". These are smileys that you can put in the Topic Title of your post.

For instance, if your post is a question, you could put a dot in the circle next to the blue question mark, and it will go in the Topic Title of your post.
