Hello first off it's us not you.

I was making some changes in the adminstration section last night and this has caused unexpected problems with the forums layout. This should not have happened and must be a bug with the new version of the software. I have raised a help ticket with the forums software support team.

The problem will be fixed ASAP, apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Regards,
Simon

Dear Simon,

Certainly an interesting bug - see http://www.saferpak....amp;#entry13316
++++++++ to state the obvious.
Rgds / Charles.C

added-I hope the bug is not self-replicating,eventually creates a sort of tunnel vision.

Hi Charles, well I've had a support ticket open for nearly 24 hours and no response as yet. The delay in support is because they have just released the upgraded software and no doubt they will be extremely busy dealing with customer upgrades and problems like mine. A learning point for me in the future is don't upgrade until a week or so after release. My problem is I just can't wait to play with the new features.

After almost two days I'm pleased to report our forums are fixed.

Of course it was my fault and what a fault! Apparently when editing the member group colour I missed a ' in the prefix for the members group - this caused all HTML after this to be displayed incorrectly.

So two days of hell caused by a missing '

Ah well you live and learn.

Dear Simon,

That's a relief, was expecting to be nicknamed Squinty in the near future. Of course LD would have blamed it on the mother-in-law.

added - would also give plaudits to the geek who worked out the error

:bug: Sadly after adding this post I observed a (possibly unrelated ) bug in that the overall forum listings showing latest posts did not show my post had been made. :crying: Hopefully will correct itself shortly.

They never cease to amaze me with their technical know-how (when they can find the time to answer  ), well actually it was partly my fault for upgrading on release and then messing about so much with the functions. The technical people at Invisionboard are brilliant, some of them have 10's of thousands of posts on their customer forums. They have seen every bug and cock-up imagineable, so finding a missing ' was probably a doddle.

:bug: Sadly after adding this post I observed a (possibly unrelated ) bug in that the overall forum listings showing latest posts did not show my post had been made. :crying: Hopefully will correct itself shortly.

I checked it's there. :bye:

Simon
