Dear Simon,

I’m curious why a group of items in the Food Safety News forum have acquired the pink x (kiss of death?) meaning that no further comments can be added. Was about to add to the “hand sanitizers” article when I discovered this block. Are these classified as potentially subversive issues or is it just my computer (or me) ? :dunno:

Rgds / Charles.C

Kind Regards,

Newsgirl sometimes get's a little frisky and posts duplicate news items; I've learned to spot this friskiness and so when she's showing signs I go through the list of news stories to remove any duplicates. Those closed topics were duplicates that I meant to delete and not close. Anyway the duplicates have now been deleted and the closed topics reopened. If you get what I mean.

Apologies Charles and thanks for the heads up.

Regards,
Simon

Dear Simon,

Actually I do like the purple.
I've still got an image left over from Franco's Juventus site if you lack inspiration for alternatives (I never did find out how to get a picture directly visible in the forum)

Or a Poll !

Dear Simon,

Just testing

Posted Image

Rgds / Charles.C

added - ok plus 75%, it's an improvement over previous in that before, one could only see my pictures if you were logged in whereas yrs, Francos and (less sure since an upload ?) Caszyn's were always visible. I went back to the old thread (UCL) and now all the pictures bar Caszyn's are visible all the time regardless of being logged in or not so this looks maybe like an improvement caused by the new software (??)
But I still don't see any option to magnify the picture as in yr thumbnail or is that a completely different insert function?? (reserved to the Admin??)
And yes, I know I'm ignorant about such things so the reason is probably quite obvious if one knows

Dear Simon,

Thanks for the applause but you were a bit too generous. I'm not quite satisfied yet, see the addendum (at least the pic. was worth a second look IMO).

The reason why all images are now visible to guests is because I changed a permission setting a while back. The setting was there in the old and new version of the software, I just changed it to allow guests to view images and also to download docs.

If an image is too large (physical dimensions) the software reduces it size and puts a "click to view full image" tag on it. I think your image is already small and so can be shown at maximum size. Try posting something big.

You can also attach an image by using the "browse" feature and then from "manage current attachments" choose to insert into the text editor; I think that puts a thumbnail inline. Give it a try also. Here's an exampel of that feature.
