Hello
I am looking for emergency response procedure as ISO 22000 require.
Does anyone have a sample for such procedure?
Thanks,
Ilana
I can't share my copy but I can tell you what is in it. The main thing ISO 22000 is looking for is how your
food safety system recovers from an emergency.
Keep in mind that emergency response colud be internal Food Safety issues such as a positive reading from environmental monitoring all the way to fire or utilities loss (electric, water). ISO 22000 just wants to know that you do not ignore food safety in an emergency and check all systems before re-sarting your production. I basically said that in the event of an emergency all food safety aspects would be considered including:
- Impacted product would be placed on hold for disposition per Hold/Release processes
- Trace and withdrawal process would be performed as needed
- Sanitation and review of all impacted food contact surfaces and product areas
We also have a disaster recovery plan that covers the full scope of disasters that are possible as each one is different. There are various templates available if you google them (
Disaster Recovery Templates). ISO 22000 does not spell out a specific need for this but it is alway a good idea to have a plan in place.
