I made an earlier post on taking our AIB system in the direction of BRC/IOP or SQF 2000. If possible I would also like to see an SQF 2000 policy manual example if any member has one to share. Ideally for food packaging although any example would help me out.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Sylvester,

SQF 2000 policy manual example

Do you mean a Quality Manual or Quality policy?

If the former, you will most likely be unlucky. If the latter, i think there are already some examples on this forum (somewhere).

I guess this post is analogous yr parallel (BRC) post which can see my reply.

Of course there may be a Santa Claus here somewhere.

BTW welcome to the forum ! :welcome:

I think it is terminology Charles.

Guidance for Developing, Documenting and Implementing an SQF 2000 System Level 3 for Food Packaging Materials Production and Distribution (PDF)

From the above Guidance.

2.5 Documenting a Policy Manual.
The Policy Manual provides an overview of the SQF System. It briefly describes how the SQF System has been
implemented and makes reference to all the policies and procedures the manufacturer has implemented to meet
each element of the Code. It serves as an effective marketing tool describing the manufacturers’ commitment to the principles that support the delivery of safe, quality food packaging. While parts of the policy manual will
need to be prepared at an early stage in the development of the SQF System, (such as the management policy
or the organization chart), the preparation of the Policy Manual is best left to last.

A Quality Manual?

By the way SQF certainly provide some fantastic free documents. As per Sylvester I would like to see an example Policy Manual for packaging.

Regards,
Simon

Dear Simon,

A Quality Manual?

Yes indeed, surely modified ISO terminology. These camp-followers should give a reference sometimes to the trailblazer  .

I seem to recall seeing almost the exact words now appearing in the SQF guidance paragraph in the archives of ISO at the inception of the 9000 series.

It's well-known that the quickest route to an auditorily acceptable manual is by a "reverse transcription". Zero creativity maybe but 100% pragmatic. I hv also seen 9001 web examples of accepted manuals encompassing no text (done totally by charts), 3 pages long, relating to a 2-person company, the list is endless. I think there is (at least) one example of a typical (business-oriented) 9001 Quality Manual on this forum already.
Most of the totally free offerings no longer appear on the first pages of google searches of course, one needs to burrow in a bit.
