Again and Again we have a discussion in our office regarding a new fitting, Sink for handwash, Wall Table, etc etc. Our engineers and fitters continually complain
about hanging items of kit onto our insulated walls as they are not strong enough to support much weight.

Our internal high care walls are are insulated panel type clad, i.e. Rockwool with a steel coating/sheet 75mm thick. Now on an extrenal wall where there is no
way of getting to the back of the wall for extra load spreading I was wondering how other companies are coping.

These items would be equipment were we do not want any legs to the floor for support, is there any fixings available for this type of application?

Thanks in advance!!

I can't offer any fixings but would putting a backing plate on the wall help? I remember a factory that was fitting a trough sink to the wall, they first attached a large stainless steel splash back and all the fittings all went through that. I don't know if it made it stronger / spread the load. :dunno:

I'm sure it must be possible, just don't ask an engineer.

Angle brackets for support using what I know as a 'Toggle' bolt to hold all in place. Desrcription of a 'toggle' bolt is that it has a set of wings that are closed while placed in the fixing hole then open up on the inside of the wall and once screwed up have the weight spread over a greater area. More bolts used the greater the capacity of weight fixed.
