Hi

Once you are on the way to start up a new production facility for food additives, what would from experience be the time frame until you will be certified according to FSSC 22000? Is it possible to have Phase 1 of the audit even before you have started up the new facility?

You need to have a working system that shows that everything is being appropriately measured and monitored so I don't think you could do that before you even open.

Most auditors are going to want to see at least 3 months of records and a completed audit cycle of your system and processes. They will also want to see that a management review has been conducted.

Agree with Tsmith.

A Food Safety Management System has to be living and not just an idea or a plan, the audit looks at the physical process and products, building, infrastructure, procedures, records and importantly how effectively people are working as per the requirements. So not possible to do this before the facility has started up.

Hi there,

I am looking at a similar project and would estimate 9 months as a reasonable and achieveable timescale.

Regards,

Tony
