Hi, we have just received a major NCR for not having a Declaration of Compliance for finished products (vacuum formed plastic packaging). Does anyone have a template for this please?

A Declaration of Compliance has a defined meaning under EU1935/2004

This is the FSA's Guidance document and amongst other things, there are some formats in the annexes.

Rosemary, I would strongly recommend you get your company to join Flexible Packaging Europe. They provide up to date and trusted information on food packaging legislation and compliance (in English); including a regular email update and they have also developed a template for what should be included in a comprehensive declaration of compliance - available free to members. Being a member will help you keep up to date with food contact legislation, which I believe in itself is a requirement of BRC/IOP.

Hi, this is my first day here. I was also looking for a model of a "declaration of compliance" to ask to our packaging providers to send us one. I´ve downloaded the guide you have attached, but it is out of date (the new regulation is from January 2011). Do you know if there is a newer version of this guide?

I know that my English is not very good at the moment and I apologize for that.

Unfortunately I don't think there is.

I think that the template is still valid even though the Guidance document does not refer to EU 10 2011. I am not an expert, but as far as I am aware 10 2011 simply clarified the components of plastics which need to be measured and their limits rather than adding anything new to the general concept of the Declaration.

If you look at Annex iv of 10 2011 it lists the information which must be included.

This is a copy of what I produced to close out the audit and use for any customers if requested.Attached File  IFSQN dec.doc   24KB   202 downloads

Don't forget you just have to have one maintained, not necessarily send it out to every customer.

Dear all, It is also my first day here :-) We have a Declaration of compliance for FCM ... but since we use diferent incoming materials (we are converter: printing, laminating, slitting, makeing bags... ) is my question: does anybody have a clue where to purchase a software for the Declaration makeing (I do not know if I have written it right)- the fact is that we use the SML values of 2 or three materials and our result of migrations test analysis of final product and write down the declaration. I think it woukd be easyer if we could have it handled in our system.... or with software. How do you manage it? Any clues.

Thank you in advance for anykind of help....

BR

Dear Olaia

You are right. That document is out of date even though there are some useful information. I spent weeks on our DOC, so I would suggest you to look at the 10/2011 annex IV where is the list of what you have to have in this document. And the other document, which is the NEW ONE, new guidelines on 10/2011 which is mainly for DOC. Please see attached. Please have a look at pages 14 and section 4 where it is explained which paragraph is relevant for each type of the company and what has to be written in it.

Good luck! Hope I helped.

And your English is very Good!!!

Regards,

Jurate

I cannot find anything related to this subject for the US.  Working toward compliance for BRC IoP Issue 5.  I understand the declaration of compliance is a requirement, but is this a document used in the US or are we referring to a Certificate of Compliance/Analysis?  AS you can see I am very confused on this section.
