A few pointers - it depends on:

- how good you are
- how unique your skills are
- how busy you are
- how good your reputation is
- the size of the organization
- the length of the job
- the type of job
- competitors pricing
- competitors availability

As an idea in the UK consultants usually charge somewhere from £250 - £500 per day + expenses. That said a PS 9000 (pharma) consultant (quite rare) can charge £1,000 a day. And Certfication Bodies charge £500 - £1,000 + expenses for audits as they take their cut.

Simon

You mean the cost of consultancy is not affected by the number of production lines, Scope of certification, pre-requisites etc . Also what should be the marginal difference in consultancy price between HACCP & ISO 22000.

Of course the scale and duration of the job affects the price. Depending on where the organization systems are currently and where they want to be e.g. achieve certification to ISO 22000 is the gap that needs to be filled. And that will take so many consultancy days. If you are inexperienced in estimating a fixed price I would work on a day rate with a best estimate of the number of day's at the start of the project, then there is scope for movement.

Also what should be the marginal difference in consultancy price between HACCP & ISO 22000.

None as far as I can see unless any of the criteria in my first post apply.

Regards,
Simon
