Product description: comprised of fruit juice, fruit pieces and starch.
Product comes from the mixing of the above ingredients along with heating carried out in a vessel. This product is finally used by another manufacturer which then metal detect the product.
- There is an start-up check of the line for any foreign bodies. The vessel does not have difficult points which can pose risk with regards to loose bolts or nuts.

- Do this process need to have a metal detector since downstream the customer will metal detect the product, please? (There is not available metal detector)
- Are prerequisites enough to cover the absence of metal detector along with the fact that the metal detection is carried out by the end producer
What is the obligations for this case?
- Do all the other ingredients apart from fruit pieces need to be filtered? The fruit pieces are added manually into the mix and therefore a visual inspection is carried out
I would like to hear your opinion.
Thank you

Quality and Safety go together, do not try to separate them!

Dear Konstantinos,

My opinion.

The (metallic-related) safety of yr end product is indeterminate as per yr info.
Whether this matters is also indeterminate as per yr info.

eg metal in raw materials?
eg actual process, (eg handling, conveyor belts, packing )?
eg obligated to whom (eg is there a standard involved, agreed customer specification, possible consumer)?

Kind Regards,
