Good Afternoon,

I have recently been put in the position of getting my company ready for SQF which is in December.  I have assisted the previous managers in getting all the information gathered and helping but now I am alone.  So could use your help.

Does anyone have an example of how I can show validation and verification of programs

Verification are the activities you do "in the past" to verify your product is acceptable, e.g. Microbial test to prove that your product follow the regulatory and customers requirements.

Validation is "for the future", all activities completed to ensure procedures e.g. The Critical Limits, you validate them before occur.

Dear tanyac,

You are probably advised to study the (freely downloadable) Guidance requirements for SQF / Validation / Verification with some care. And the standard itself.

if you look at some threads on this forum, SQF auditors seem to occasionally hv varying interpretations of the standard. More frequently (but not exclusively) due to the validation component.

Thank you both for your reply.  I am currently reviewing the Module 2 System Elements along with the Checklist.  It is helpful in guidance.

Dear tanyac,

If you hv not already seen it, the Codex 2008 document (referenced in the SQF standard, I think) is an excellent and very readable document. The only slight caveat is that SQF's guidance materials are perhaps not totally aligned to it nonetheless it is a classic reference.

The ca.1997 NACMCF haccp publication also referenced in SQF standard is also very readable in respect to validation, probably better than the, pre-2008 Codex haccp documents.

As far as examples go, there are a variety on this forum, some are generic, some may relate better than others to yr own product / process (?)

Kind Regards,
