Greetings:

Reaching out for recommendations on an automated SDS authorizing software / company.  Ideally trying to find a collaborative program and/or consultant that would be able to create a SDS on each product.

Any suggestions are tremendously appreciated. My company has set an aggressive timeline on making sure that all of our material reflects SDS compliance / 16 standardized sections.

Regards,

PB

Hi Charles,

The OP is referring to Safety Data Sheets.

In order to comply with relevant US and EU regulations your SDS should contain 16 sections as follows;

  1. Identification
  2. Hazard(s) identification
  3. Composition/information on ingredients
  4. First-aid measures
  5. Fire-fighting measures
  6. Accidental release measures
  7. Handling and storage
  8. Exposure controls/personal protection
  9. Physical and chemical properties
  10. Stability and reactivity
  11. Toxicological information
  12. Ecological information
  13. Disposal considerations
  14. Transport information
  15. Regulatory information
  16. Other information

Hi Philip,

Thanks for the input.

The Wacky World of Acronyms (WWA) strikes again (sighhh). I'm beginning to think we need a UDOTA (Urban Dictionary of Technical Acronyms).  The particular problem is obviously that many of the 3-letter ones are now becoming "multi-multi-meaning".

It appears that one can say thanks to OSHA for this one.

https://www.osha.gov...s/OSHA3514.html

I noticed within the above link - BCF, IBC, ACGIH, LD50, PEL, IARC, HCS, IMDG, MARPOL, PPE, NTP, CFR

TAQ anyone ? I knew 1.5/12 (CFR, LD50)

The current family, and maybe trend, is I suspect particularly due to an American addiction to the habit, eg

http://chemlabs.uore...ety/HazCom.html

The appended list at end of above document is perhaps a portent of things to come, eg

Alphabet Soup -- assorted acronyms

Dealings with the government, or indeed with any bureaucracy of more than modest size, seem to leave one awash in acronyms. Alas, learning about Hazard Communication is no exception. Collected here are various acronyms associated with this discussion.

(can add HMIS, HMIG, NPCA, NFPA, OAR, RTK to upper series) (the additional link to a  "comprehensive" acro. list is, perhaps, thankfully broken).

Kind Regards,
