Dear All,

I noticed that Kraft has an analogous approach to BRC for Supplier Approval which may be of interest to some people.

Kraft has a tiered approach for their suppliers  based on a  risk analysis of the material (Tier Rating) .

The Tier Rating determines several items including (a) the types of audits & certificates which are accepted for both initial approval of the site and for ongoing audits, (b)  the audit frequency.

The Kraft Audit Matrix (2012)  presenting  the relationship between (a,b) and the Tier Rating  for an extensive range of foods  is illustrated, together with  details on  its implementation, in the attachment below (eg Pgs  20-26)

Hi Tom,

You need to assess the risk of the material/service provided taking into consideration the controls you have on site and this will help you determine appropriate risk and supplier assurance measures. See examples attached where we have categorized a final ingredient (chocolate) that is not further processed on site as high risk.

Hi Charles,

Where would I be able to locate that file? I am still trying to work my way around this site.

Thanks

I think you need to purchase the related Package.

After you have posted 10x (or maybe 11) you can pm to Tony directly.

Apologies for not spotting the previous posts earlier.

The Supplier Risk Assessment Tool is included in most of the GFSI Certification Packages but was originally developed for the BRC Food packages:

Hi Tony,

Thank you for the response. Is the 'Supplier Risk Calculator' included in either package? I am not too familiar with BRC, but have worked with SQF. My facility is trying to implement the new PCQI risk analysis recommendations.

Thanks

Hi mec862,

The 'Supplier Risk Assessment Tool' and the 'Supplier Risk Calculator' are the same (just with different names in different packages).

The SQF Code Edition 7.2 Implementation Package for Food Manufacturers package also contains the Supplier Risk Calculator.

Kind regards,

Tony

Tony,

Our facility is already SQF certified so we wouldn't need the Implementation package. Can the supplier portion be sold separately?

Hi mec862,

I have sent you an email. We don't normally sell individual elements of the implementation packages but consider each request individually.

Kind regards,

Tony
