I think that I might make the suggestion now that I've had for a while since the 1st or 2nd month of MotM.

I'm not sure if it's possible or easy to do but maybe reworking the "levels" of reputation to have a bit more diversity in it rather than it basically going from "Nobody knows who you are" to "You're someone" to "Excellent".

I don't know that I have a better system but maybe

1-10 being Novice

11 - 20 being something intermediate

21 - 30 being something higher

blah blah blah...

91- 99 being excellent observer

and so on until 100 which could be something like World Class Assistant

Seeing as we are food and it's something that someone gives when a person thinks someone has posted something above and beyond normal help.

I don't know but as much as I remember there was only about 3 levels.  Does it matter?  I don't know.

However I do think that I should forever be known as "Mostly Harmless" or maybe "42".

Ideas? Thoughts? Adulation? Wanna throw hate?  Just ideas.

Hi Mr I, I split your topic of as not related to the other thread.

We have a member grade and promotion system based on the number of posts made by a member.

We also have the Thanks button, which members can click if they like what another member has posted.  The accumulated "thanks" appears on the members profile, but with no levels...just a number.

And we also have the reputation system "the green arrow" again can be clicked if a member likes what another member has posted.  There are levels, but they are hard coded unlike the member grades, which I can set and control.

There is a new version of this software in beta...it's a massive change apprently.  I won't be installing it until all of the bugs are ironed out and the mods I have in place have been upgraded.  It may take 12 months, but I can certainly look into the reputation system and report back.

Yeah thanks Simon my rational for leaving it there was lacking now that I think about it.

I know we have the member grading system which is fine I was just thinking about how "Excellent" is the reputation level from around 30 to forever and it would look nice to have other levels... nothing huge and can't wait to see the new boards when they come out.

Well would you believe it...we can control Reputation levels.

I have it set at default with Negative Reputation switched off.

Please feel free to discuss and propose some levels.

You wouldn't think I've been using this software for 10 years.

I think that's good that you switched off negative levels because while I've gained 85 thus far I'm sure I'd have earned at least -100 :roflmao:

Let's go people let's come up with something fun for the system we use every day!

0 - 10 None

11 - 20 Fair

21 - 30 Good

91-100 Excellent

100 + World Class

Change what I came up with or add ones in between...

I don't know about numbers, but for rank titles I would like to see things along the lines of these (in no particular order, though "Destroyer of Pathogens" could be the highest rank, and more words like "Destroyer" )

  • Student to the ways of Mankind
  • Tenderfoot
  • Mixer of Chemicals
  • Keeper of the Documents
  • Detector of Metals
  • Destroyer of Pathogens

lol Magenta!

Well I'm not sure how Simon would feel about that idea but I think it's hilarious.

1-10 - Killer of Fleas

11 - 20 - Defender of Rodents

In principal I agree with creating multiple levels of Reputation.

The number of levels, reputation titles etc. are all up for grabs.

Please feel to propose ideas.

I will award an IFSQN pen to the winner.

Ok... this is what I came up with. Make your lists people!  I found it was hard to do  levels of ten with some people like Charles and Snookie that have such a high level of reputation lol!

0 - IFSQN Newbie

1 - 15 - Finder of Fleas

16 - 30 - Rodent Wrangler

31 - 45 - Pest Preventer

46 - 60 - Non-conformance Negator

61 - 75 - Insightful Investigator

76 - 90 - Audit Annihilator

91 - 105 – Stellar Superstar

106 – 120 – 5 Star Surveyor

121 – 135 – Solar system Assessor

136 – up – Galactic Guardian

Lol!  I thought about making 151 and up "The Doctor" seeing as he fixes everything in the end but I stopped just short :doctor:
