Food Safety Software

Hi All, 

I know this topic has been brought up countless times on this forum but I am looking for opinions on software that is not designed explicitly for food safety/quality.  My company wants to get away from paper based systems and is currently looking at general management software, specifically this: https://joltup.com/ I can see value in this software for general management (and it's $50 per month for unlimited users--you can guess why management is so keen on this!) but am not convinced that it will be useful for Q&FS.  Does anyone have any opinions, advice, or recommendations?  I would love to get "real" Q&FS software that would be GFSI ready but, unfortunately, I am now having to not only prove the advantages of that kind of software but also justify why it would be worth spending 20 times as much money on it!  Anyone know of any really simple/cheap programs out there that are geared toward Q&FS?  Thank you all for your time!

Just a brief glance, it looks like this software is geared towards restaurants, which involve food safety and quality.....but, not in the same way as manufacturers.  GFSI is different and we need to track far more and with a different intensity.  I looked at a few and have not selected any, but cheap did not apply to any of them.

That is the issue I have with this software as well (no Traceability, HACCP, etc.).  It is possible to add these sorts of things to the program, but it would basically be glorified paperwork and I'm not sure how an auditor would feel about tracking information in this way.  We are not GFSI certified nor are we attempting that just yet (we are going to start with AIB), but I do not want to invest so much time in developing software that we will not be able to use in a few years when we (hopefully) start going for GFSI.  

Benefits: traceability, having all data organized in one place, flexibility to add new tests/tasks in the future, ease of updating limits and testing schedules, analysis of the data to get feedback from all the data you collect on a daily basis (trending), real-time alerts, ensuring all corrective actions are getting documented, ease of data verification, ease of printing out reports, efficiency in collecting data, paper-less process, simplicity in tracing back to root causes, audit-preparedness, to name a few.  You can get solutions for 10x (not necessarily 20x) the fee joltup charges, but 50x the flexibility, customizability, and capabilities.  I know it's tough to persuade the management, but you just need to show them a clear picture of not only the issues you are having right now which a software would resolve, but also the potential risks involved with a paper-based process.  Good luck!
