my auditor recommended that I should replace my body of certification from BRC to FSSC

(i assume he has his interest).

 

what are the main differences between those two bodies of certification?

FSSC is focusing on Food safety whereas BRC also covers quality (customer satisfaction). FSSC is less prescritive but has a stronger focus on HACCP. FSSC might be more appropriate for ingredients whereas BRC is designed for finished goods. At the end of the day you must listen to your customers demands.

FSSC requires you to relearn haccp thanks to OPRP.
