Emily,

You are correct.  (M) means major nonconformance, and (m) means minor nonconformance.

Hey guys,

Another of my dumb questions. I have searched through all 10 pages under this topic and didn't see anything that looked like it would answer my question.

I have a hard copy and digital version of SQF v7.2 (downloaded directly from SQFI). In the digital copy, there are several lowercase m's in parentheses: (m). I understand the uppercase (M) next to section headings means mandatory (right?!). Can anyone tell me what the lowercase (m)'s are? Since I'm mostly seeing the (m)'s in the "Secondary Response" column, I'm thinking the (M)'s in that column are major non-conformances and the (m)'s are minor non-conformances but would appreciate your wisdom.

Not knowing is killing me (I'm sure my curiosity will kill me some day!) but I also want to be sure I'm not missing anything in meaning or requirement.

Thank you!

~Emily~

I am assuming this question was regarding the SQF-Code-Edition-7.2-Checklist in Excel

There is an information sheet with a key in the file:
