If we have a variety of products, for annual calibration, would it matter what product we choose for metal detector calibration?

 

Challenge studies have been done in the past and metal detector shows it can detect alot better than our standards.

Hi jtang,

 

Yes it matters because the food matrix relates to the detection capability. Similarly for size, geometry, etc etc.

 

I suggest you have a look at the MD manual.

In the cheese world we did many different sizes/shapes/weights of cheese and we would calibrate to the specific product each time we switched runs/product. So yes, it does.
