Hi everyone,

My name is Maria and I'm from Sydney, Australia. I have 7 years QA experience in the Smallgoods industry and have just recently taken on a new role as a QA Systems Manager in a company that produces RTE Salads, processed vegetables, chilled soups. Looking for as much info as possible to assist me in learning about this industry. Any help / resources on produce would be fantastic as I'm looking to get myself aquainted with the company's Approved Supplier programs and make some improvements.

Hi Maria,

Must admit I'm not too sure what Smallgoods covers ? Non-food ?

Is yr new Company certified to any of the GFSI recognized FS Standards ?

if so, this would likely define yr Supplier Approval programs and maybe assist suggestions for relevant resources.

Kind Regards,

Charles.C

Hi,  Smallgoods is a term used in Australia for cooked meat and other meat products (bacon, ham, salami, frankfurts, sliced deli meats, prosciutto etc). Previous company had BRC cert. New company has SQF cert.

Hi Maria

go to the Fresh Produce Safety Centre website (they are based in Sydney) where you will find resources relevant to RTE salads. There are guidelines produced by the salad producers' forum. good luck
