Hello,

Further to my post asking about glass windows in clean rooms it has been suggested to me that a glass window in our factory would be acceptable if it was on the glass register and part of weekly inspection.

Is anyone able to supply me an example of a glass register or internal checklist sample of things to consider - in the same conversation it was mentioned about other things on the checklist like plastic compressor dials etc?    HACCP is still something we are learning about and we are constructing our clean room and policies as we go on a tight budget.

Thanking you,

Wendy.

Hi ppak,

It may depend on the particular FS standard involved (??)  but i predict the answer to yr query (for a window) will vary from highly unlikely to impossible (ie a guaranteed NC).

You might consider a worst case risk assessment if it does shatter uncontrolled.

I would guess the cheapest solution is to add protective plastic or switch to plastic windows if possible.

I think there are some examples of glass registers on this forum.

Kind Regards,

Thank you Charles.

We are trying to achieve HACCP certification but have not had auditors out yet.  We manufacture plastic bags and are trying to seal off and make our factory the clean room including remote doors, expoxy floors and walls,  and a grey area for PPE before entering.  Originally we were going to build a room within the factory to achieve the clean room with sandwhich panels, but we just don't have the room to achieve this with machine attachments needed from time to time.  We are now closing off the whole factory and access for stock in and out will be through a  remote controlled roller door by forklift and then retrieved by operators once door is closed, through some sliding doors where we will put in a wall in that area.  In the factory production area is a large glass window that is part of the factory wall structure.

We will go with the protective plastic as was mentioned also to me in another post about the window and I have been sent a very helpful link with forms and registers.  Thank you for your input :)
