Hello there,

I recently discovered this site and this is my first time posting!

I am reaching out because I have been put in charge of updating my plant's Glass and Brittle Plastics program, beginning with the inventory list. I've found it very hard to decribe the locations of each item, and I know it will be even harder for a third-party auditor. My idea is to create a visual map of the items, but I'm unsure where to start.

If anyone has an example of a map they created for their program, or knows of a good mapping software, I would welcome the suggestions.

Any help on this is appreciated!

Hi Summerland,

Welcome to the Forum ! :welcome:

Pls inform if any particular FS Standard involved. It can matter.

From memory at least one map example exists here (somewhere). But I seem to remember the result was not that (visually) simple. Presumably depends on the number of instances.

Kind Regards,

Thank you! :spoton:

I'm dealing with the standards set up by my company, not necessarily national ones. But I know that a Glass and Brittle Plastics Program is a very common Prerequisite Program for food companies in the U.S. to reduce risk of contamination.

The number of items on the registry I've begun to develop is quite large, and often the items are small, such as pressure gauges and indicator lights on the lines. I found an example of a map on here last week, but I think it might be too simple for the amount of items I have.

Making this map is proving quite difficult, so I am hoping someone on here has encountered a similar problem and has suggestions on what to do next.
