We have passed the initial SQF lvl 2 audit, but I was wondering how different the recertification audit is.  Trying to get a feel as to what to expect in round two.

It should be the same.  The only difference is in the recertification audit you do a review of your past non-conformances from the previous audit to ensure they have been completed and not a recurring issue.

If you have the same auditor what usually happens is they spend less time on the areas where you showed no issues and more time on the areas where you have non-conformances or showed weaker systems.  This depends on the individual auditor.

I was just wondering how things would go since there is no desk audit and we are having a different auditor.

In some ways it will feel like a desk audit, but it is generally less intense.  If you have the same auditor you did previous audit, they'll be more interested in reviewing changes you made than re-audit everything they went over with a fine-tooth comb in the desk audit.

The yearly recert audit under SQF is just like the certification audit you had during your first year.
