I am a Quality manager at a 3PL in the United States.  I'm looking to get BRC certified against the Storage and Distribution Standard this year, but am having difficulty finding US-based companies that have a robust enough pool of auditors that are certified to audit this specific standard.  I would also like to take a class or attend a Seminar that specifically relates to the Storage and Distribution standard and am having trouble finding anything within driving distance.  I am located in Indiana.  Does anyone have suggestions on either of these topics?  I do realize the new standard is now being trained on so that may be a hold up as well as far as getting suitable auditors...

Chiming in from Oregon here. It's hard to get exactly the training you want in your area, in my case, I normally have only one or two opportunities between Portland and Seattle to get any sort of specific training in (and they schedule them all in February for some reason...). Ultimately travel is usually required for the really specific (and actually in depth) stuff you want. I would combine a couple you want to train in into one trip somewhere where many are held (e.g. at IFT), and do what you can to mitigate expenses.

Use BRC's certification body search tool if you haven't already to find auditors that are approved to audit against the distribution standard: http://www.brcglobal...ards-directory/ as far as their availability hopefully someone else on here with direct experience with one of them can chime in with a recommendation for you. I'm an SQF guy.

Hello Phil,

Check out the Food Safety Summit. It is almost 100% FSMA but they do offer some classes that may interest you. It is in Rosemont, Illinois May 8-11. I am also in Indiana and our CB is NSF. Our plant is a direct food contact packaging facility. We just received our SQF level 2 initial certification this past December.
