Can anyone tell me the min/max time frame one can conduct a mock recall as the standard does not specify an exact time frame

Our company does not have a product that is hazzardous with no CCP's so I wanted to extend my time frame from yearly to perhaps every second year but I am not sure what the time frame is that one can "play" with

2 years is way way too long IMO.  Your not testing the likely hood of the being a need to recall, but rather if your recall system works. Alot can change over the course of a year, nevermind 2 and you may not know about it. The shipping department could change forms....if you don't know how to navigate that system, how would you know if you can get all the information in a timely fashion?

For the small amount of time a mock recall takes, just do at MINIMUM once a year.  This is not the place to take a short cut

The simulated recall exists to test the efficiency of the traceability program and should be tested to give you and your team a sense of comfort knowing you can locate suspected product with ease in the event that you have to perform a product withdrawal

Hello,

Dear Starrine,

Just for information. There is no link between the number of CCPs and the frequency of mock recalls.

A recall is done, when a product is released and it turns out to be non-conforming (after this release step).

You need to test your procedure at least once a year, as described above.

Kind regards,

Gerard Heerkens

Hello,

Our document rules to conduct mock recall at least annually, but our customers require us to conduct twice.

Best regards
