Hi everybody. I am currently employed to an edible oils and fats company. One of our customer request that we have a Whistleblower Procedure and Foreign Material Prevention Procedure in place. Does anyone have a sample of such procedures? Can you share it please? Thank you.

hi

we do not have written procedure but as for customers requirement that staff should be reminded of this twice a year, we attach sth like this to payslips

STAFF BRIEFING – whistle bowing contact details

(date)

Colleagues who come forward with concerns play an important role in maintaining a healthy, respectful, and productive workplace. Please see below confidential whistle blowing contact details to report any concerns that you might have in regards to the site. This could be in relation to food integrity, quality or safety; or in relation to responsible sourcing or ethics programme.

There are several contact methods that can be used. These are:

(contact details provided by customers)

additionally posters with contact details are displayed in factory

You can just write that company is aware of importance and assures all employees are informed of ways for reporting any concerns etc

hope it helps

It should (sort of) already been in your program............visitors and facility sections, that employees are to notify supervisor or operator of suspicious people or activities. Wouldn't that suffice if you just incorporated a statement there that employee(s) will not be reprimanded for calling out the behaviors/people?

Please stop referring to me as Sir/sirs

Hello,

Whistle blower is about reporting when there is labor malpratice in your company (social compliance), or some supervisors and managers doing things against labor laws. In food safety and legality, when the company produce product that are not safe and illegal or somebody in his ranks, supervisor doing things against FS and FL. He should report it to the  top management, or to the authorities, FDA, and other government agency that have jurisdiction on your process.

He must be protected by hiding his identity.

regards,

redfox

Yes, I realize its not something new, however our industry never considered it until now. Customer insist that a procedure be in place.

Thank you,

S. Reid.

I like this. It can be a medium for informing all staff of the procedure and who to contact.

Thank you.

Hi Shere-Dean,

Yr context may be relevant.

There are a mere 1.8M hits on google for "whistleblowing procedure food industry". Many contain "Procedures" but whose content varies prodigiously.

The scope of the procedure you seek may be defined by requiring compliance to  local (or perhaps customer) legal considerations. Many IT published procedures look to have been "legal compliance" driven.

The content of the procedure is presumably preferred to relate to the Food Industry. Most published procedures look otherwise oriented.

Just as an example of what it's all about in one location -

https://www.nibusine...g-food-industry

As a, perhaps, somewhat contrasting approach -

whistleblowing procedure

PS - Previous examples in this thread (Posts 2,5) illustrate a relatively informal approach as compared to the almost exact opposite. Yr response likely relates to why yr customer is asking and the Scope of the Policy / Procedure yr own Company wishes (or is required) to implement.

PPS - A relatively neutral approach, albeit detailed (includes a Process Flowchart !) -

Attached File  Whistleblower Policy-Procedure.pdf   790.32KB   251 downloads

P3S - the most "compact" Policy i noticed -

Attached File  Whistleblower Policy.pdf   70.32KB   244 downloads

Kind Regards,
