Hi All,

The search for a food fraud vulnerability assessment tool is proving to be extremely frustrating.

Am also having problems with the SSAFE Vulnerability Assessment Tool not generating a report. Have also tried the online version (PWC) but sign in problems won't let me access that.

Judging from the last post it looks like an SQF VA might be useful (our company manufactures food contact packaging material), what have been peoples experience with this tool?

Kind regards,

Vicki W

Hi Vicki,

What Standard (if any) are you attempting to comply with ?

afaik the ssafe tool was originally developed for food, eg -

Attached File  Food Fraud vulnerability and its key factors.pdf   788.01KB   211 downloads

(OT SQF Topic)

Afai can recall, the only model Packaging VA I have so far seen is that given by IFS in their Guidelines document which is a sort of semi-quantitative variation of BRC's methodology -

Attached File  IFS Standards Product Fraud.pdf   3.18MB   201 downloads

PS - not sure what you meant by referring to "SQF VA" as a "tool" ? Perhaps you meant SSAFE ?

Hi Vicki,

Note that BRC, SQF, FSSC22000, IFS are all GFSI-recognised.

But every Code of the above FS Standards has some differences in textual requirements  regarding Food Fraud Vulnerability Assessment.

Kind Regards,

Hi Vicky,

Try the FDA's Food Defense Plan Builder. Its a free download available on there web site. I am quite satisfied with it, using it in three packaging plants..

Hi tamale,

The thread is Food Fraud, not Food Defense

But thanks anyway.

Why on Earth did FDA choose to use VA for Food Defense !!

Kind Regards,
